Xavier Mejia is licensed in Health Sciences Research from Keck Medicine of USC and he also obtained Motivational Interviewing training from Columbia University’s School of Social Work. Xavier is known for his extended work in the LGBTQ+ community.

Xavier's career in media began in 2002 when he produced segments for Pacifica Radio (KPFK 90.7FM). Following a decade working in behavioral sciences, he established QTalk Radio in 2015, one of the first LGBTQ+ online radio stations catering to queer people of color.

Since 2017, Xavier has produced and moderated annual discussions at La Plaza de Cultura y Artes, focusing on topics that affect the Queer Latinx community.

Xavier has also hosted authors for Vroman's and Book Soup to promote their books, including The Actor Uncovered by Michael Howard, Making It: Music, Sex, and Drugs in the Golden Age of Rock by Ted Myers, Cork Dork by Bianca Bosker, and Poets: Randall Mann, Miguel Murphy, Aaron Smith, and many more.
