Xavier Mejia is licensed in Health Sciences Research from Keck Medicine of USC and he also obtained Motivational Interviewing training from Columbia University’s School of Social Work. Xavier is known for his extended work in the LGBTQ+ community.

 

Xavier's first media experience took place in 2002 when he put together segments for Pacifica Radio (KPFK 90.7FM). Later in 2015, after spending a decade working in the field of behavioral sciences, Xavier founded one of the first LGBTQ+ online radio outlets geared towards queer people of color known as QTalk Radio.

 

As of today, Xavier has produced online listening shows like Housing Justice Radio with Elena Popp, Soy Yo David, Queer Talk, and The O& Z Show with Ofelia Barba and Zoey Luna.

 

Since 2017, Xavier has been instrumental in bringing topics that affect the Queer Latinx community to La Plaza de Cultura y Artes as an annual moderator. Topics include:
